Kyle Larson hoping for 25th NASCAR win this Sunday in Richmond

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Kyle Larson, the winner of 24 NASCAR Cup Series races so far in his career, is looking for his 25th this weekend at the Toyota Owners 400 at the Richmond Raceway.

Larson, who won last year’s Toyota Owners 400, told 8News that patience is key when handling Richmond’s challenging D-shaped track.

Richmond is notorious for being a tough track for tire management and Larson, who said he’s done well so far this season with speed and handling but has had some issues with pit stops, hopes his #5 Chevrolet drives easily this Sunday.

“I feel like Richmond is one of my my tougher places I go to, but you know, just doesn’t come quite naturally to me,” said Larson. “But, you know, I’ve been able to win a couple of times there and have some good runs, have some bad runs. So we’ll see what this weekend brings.”

This year’s Toyota Owners 400 will be the first night race in Richmond in almost three years. The race, the seventh of this season, starts at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 31 and will be broadcast on FOX.
