Wegmans brand harissa hummus sold in Virginia, D.C., Maryland recalled for undeclared allergen


(WRIC) — Wegmans brand hummus with harissa has been recalled due to an undeclared allergen.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the hummus, which has been sold in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey, was recalled because it contains undeclared sesame, which can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction in some people.

The hummus comes in a 10.5 oz clear plastic package with the lot number 240239 or 240309 printed on the top, side and bottom and an expiration date of 3/19/2024 or 3/26/2024 printed on the side.

Anyone who has purchased the recalled hummus is asked to not eat it and return it to where it was purchased from for a full refund. Customers with questions can call Wegmans at 1-855-934-3663.
