WATCH: Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney delivers his final State of the City address

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney will deliver his 2024 State of the City address at the Virginia Science Museum, beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30.

In his final State of the City, Stoney will share “insights into how our city progresses,” achievements from the past year and future plans for Richmond, according to a Facebook post announcing the event.

This comes just over a month after Stoney formally announced his intent to run for governor. As Stoney is in his second term as Richmond’s mayor, he cannot run for a third.

At a recent press conference, Stoney spoke about his legislative priorities for Richmond. He said he would like to see the General Assembly advance legislation addressing gun violence and creating more affordable childcare.

He also said he wanted more speed cameras in the region, as well as more funding to prevent sewage overflow into the James River.
