Thrive Market, online grocery store, accepts SNAP benefits for Richmond recipients

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in the city of Richmond now have access to an online grocery store, the Thrive Market.

Accessibility to grocery stores in some areas in Richmond have been known to be a challenge for residents.

The Thrive Market offers another option for residents to have their groceries delivered right to their doors, without leaving the comfort of their homes.

Recently, the Thrive Market has started taking SNAP EBT payments nationwide.

With Richmond being one of the top three cities in Virginia that receives SNAP benefits, this provides access to food without the hassle.

SNAP recipients do not have to pay out of pocket for delivery and the usual $60 annual membership fee is free.
