Shreveport Police said the baby is safe and the suspect is in custody.

The vehicle was taken from the Burger King parking lot in the 6700 block of Pines Road.

Caddo deputies stopped the SUV at Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and Walker Road after the man crashed the car into two other vehicles.

Deputies were working an accident when they spotted the stolen vehicle and gave chase. According to Shreveport Police, a friend of the family of the child in the SUV spotted the stolen vehicle and flagged down a deputy before following the car.

That man then assisted the Caddo deputy in stopping the suspect.

The suspect has been turned over to Shreveport police and is potentially facing a kidnapping charge as well as the charge for stealing a vehicle.
