Seventh annual ‘A Night for Scott’ raises money for local addiction programs

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News joined with the organization 2 End the Stigma for its seventh annual ‘A Night for Scott’ event to raise money for local addiction treatment centers and community outreach programs.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, the A Night for Scott: Solid Gold for Scott event was held at John Marshall Ballrooms, located on 101 N. 5th Street, to raise funds to benefit Chesterfield Recovery Academy and Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rams in Recovery.

The ‘A Night for Scott’ event was named after 2 End the Stigma’s founder Jill Zebrowski Cichowicz’s twin brother Scott Zebrowski, who died from fentanyl poisoning in 2017.

Guests who attended the event dressed in their best groovy and gold outfits as part of the event’s 70’s theme. The event featured silent auctions, food and live music.

8News’ Anchor Deanna Allbrittin was a special guest speaker at the event. She was joined by Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Advocate Joy Bogese and Drug Enforcement Administration associate Jon C. DeLena, who were also speakers at the event.

Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanna Youngkin also made a special appearance in a recorded message played during the event.
