On the eve of Delaware’s first snowstorm of the season, multiple school districts throughout the state have announced school and office closures for Monday, Jan. 3.

About 6 to 8 inches of snow is currently projected to hit Kent and Sussex counties with the heaviest snowfall remaining along and southeast of the I-95 corridor, according to the National Weather Service

The snowfall will lead to “treacherous” driving conditions as the southern portions of the state continue to be under a winter storm warning until Monday afternoon.

Northern Delaware, including New Castle County, is expected to receive 1 to 3 inches of snow with a winter weather advisory in effect from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday.
