Romanian court releases controversial influencer Andrew Tate from house arrest

A Romanian court, on Friday (August 4) released controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother from house arrest where they were awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking. The duo will now be placed under judicial control, a lighter restrictive measure.

In its ruling, the Bucharest court said that it “replaces the house arrest measure with that of judicial control for a period of 60 days from August 4 until October 2.” Additionally, Tate and his brother have to report to the police and are not allowed to leave Romania without prior approval.
