Richmond Police release surveillance photos of East Broad Street homicide suspect


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department continues to investigate the deadly shooting of a man in front of Richmond City Hall on East Broad Street on Friday morning — and have released images of the suspect taken by a security camera.

According to police, officers responded to the 900 block of East Broad Street at around 7:46 a.m. on Friday, March 8 for a report of a shooting. The victim, an adult man, was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he later died.

The victim has not yet been identified by police.

Police have released images of the suspect, who they described as a Black man with a face covering, distinct black and white hooded jacket, distinct red, black and white FILA sneakers, sunglasses and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen in the area of North 7th Street and East Grace Street following the shooting. Anyone who sees the suspect is asked to not approach him and to instead call 9-1-1.
