One firefighter dead, nine injured after house explosion in Loudoun County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A firefighter is dead and nine others are injured after a house explosion in Loudoun County, according to DC News Now.

The explosion took place on Friday night on Silver Ridge Drive in the Sterling area of Loudoun County.

Crews from the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company first responded to the area at around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a gas leak. Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded at around 8:30 p.m. for reports of a structure fire, according to DC News Now.
