Authorities in Olathe, Kansas, are investigating a serious plane crash and fire at the Johnson County Executive Airport that happened around 10:30 Sunday morning. Officials with the Olathe Fire Department said there were “no survivors.” Johnson County MED-ACT reported there was one person on board the plane. The plane involved was a Piper Meridian Turbo Prop heading to Albuquerque. Eyewitnesses on the scene said the plane attempted to take off, and at some point slammed into the ground and burst into flames. Olathe Police said on Twitter that officers are helping with traffic control near 151st Street and Pflumm due to that fire, and that alternative routes may be required. The NTSB and FAA will take over the investigation.
