RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Night to Shine prom will be held at three churches located in the Richmond area to celebrate people with special needs.
On Friday, Feb. 9, Cool Spring Baptist Church and Fairmount Christian Church in Mechanicsville, as well as West End Presbyterian Church in Henrico will host the Night to Shine prom, an event to celebrate people with special needs sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
Guests of Night to Shine will enter the event on a red carpet with a friendly welcome from a crowd and paparazzi. There will also be hair and makeup stations, shoe-shining areas, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, and custom photos for guests to enjoy.
The prom’s entertainment will include caricature artists, an Elvis impersonator, stilt walkers, magicians, and more. Pageant celebrities including Miss Virginia and Miss Virginia Teen will also be in attendance.
After dancing and dinner, each guest will be crowned prom king or queen with a message from Tim Tebow given by satellite.
According to a spokesperson for the event, the Night to Shine prom has over 650 guests participating and over 1,300 registered volunteers.
