A U.S. Marine Corps veteran is one of two men who were killed in a triple shooting in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, according to family members of the victim.Boston police said the shooting happened at about 3 a.m. Sunday in the area of 26 Melbourne St.Relatives of the Marine veteran, Tefan Ivy, told NewsCenter 5’s Brianna Borghi that he was 29 years old and had a 4-year-old daughter.Boston police said one of the men who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene and another was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.The two victims are the 25th and 26th homicide victims in the city this year, officials said.The third man who was shot was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.Police did not state whether more people were involved in the shooting nor the circumstances that led to it.Neighborhood resident Luis Perez told Borghi that a lot of people were partying in the area around the time the shooting happened.”About 10 or 20 shots,” Perez said. “When you hear something like that, you go hide.”Ryan Diauto, who was staying with a friend who lives next door to where the shooting happened, said he is lucky to be alive an injured after he was hit by a bullet fragment that entered his home.”It went through the wall, hit something and then hit my ankle,” Diauto said. “I thought it was a wood chip, but when I looked on the ground, a bullet was on the ground.”The shooting is being investigated by the Boston Police Department’s Homicide and Crime Scene units, as well as the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call BPD homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.
