Man pulled from Hitchcock park pool believed to have severe brain trauma


At 11:26 p.m. on Saturday, a caller reported a drowning of an unidentified, 15 to 20-year-old Hispanic male at Hitchcock Park Swimming Pool, located at Hitchcock Park Road and 45th Street. Omaha fire responded to the call at about 11:32 p.m. and found a man inside the pool, but could not find witnesses or traffic in the area.The 15 to 20-year-old Hispanic male was pulled from the pool and transported to Bergan Mercy requiring resuscitation.According to police, whoever reported the drowning used a phone number that couldn’t be traced or reached for a response.It is unclear how the man got into the gated pool and how many others were with him at the time. This is the second related incident since May 29, when a still-unidentified 18-year-old male was found at the bottom of the same pool after hours — he jumped the fence along with friends.
