A 28-year-old man was killed Tuesday after his motorcycle collided with a car in Bear, Delaware State police said.
Police identified the motorcyclist as John Aiken of Bear.
Aiken was traveling north at 7:06 p.m. on Red Lion Road in a Harley Davidson Sportster, police said. At that time, he was behind a Hyundai Sonata that was partially in both the right turn lane and the through lane on Hunters Run Way.
As the Hyundai turned left on Hunters Run Way, Aiken collided with the vehicle, police said. Investigators said Aiken attempted to pass the turning Hyundai and crossed over the double yellow line.

Aiken was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The operator of the Hyundai was not injured during the crash, police said.
