CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person was injured and two are displaced following a fire at a Chesterfield County home determined to have been caused by a grill.
According to Chesterfield Fire and EMS, crews responded to a home on the 2100 block of Esquire Road at around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, Feb, 19, for a report of a fire. Crews at the scene found the fire began at the rear of the home and had spread to its attic and roof.
The fire was marked under control at 6:36 p.m. and was determined to have been caused by a grill that was touching the back of the home.
One person suffered a minor burn to their foot and was treated at the scene. Two residents were displaced by the fire but are being assisted by family.
