16-year-old drowns in Falling Creek, Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A 16-year-old boy drowned this evening in Falling Creek, a tributary of the James River. Chesterfield Police said his body was recovered by rescue crews.

Emergency services received a call just before 4 p.m. reporting a person in the water. Chesterfield County Fire Department, Chesterfield County Police Department and other emergency service units responded to the scene.

Upon arriving to the 2500 block of Marina Drive near Falling Creek Apartments, officers were informed that a teenager had gone under the water and had yet to resurface.

Units from the Chesterfield County Fire Department would later recover the body of a 16-year-old from the water.
