A 52-year-old man was fatally shot in an apparent murder-suicide in Wilmington’s Eastlawn neighborhood Friday evening, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
Police said the man was shot on the 200 block of Cityview Ave. at 5:10 p.m. by a 46-year-old man, who police believe then fatally shot himself. The 52-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The shooting is still under investigation, but Wilmington police said the incident was likely domestic.
Neighbors said on Saturday morning that they heard gunshots and saw police, but did not know exactly what happened. One resident said he saw the 52-year-old man taken away in the ambulance and the 46-year-old removed from the townhouse by the coroner.
