HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — The Westwood Park playground in Hopewell will close temporarily due to safety concerns and ahead of potential renovations, according to police.
A spokesperson for the Hopewell Police Department said the playground has reached the end of its lifespan and that the closure is needed for safety reasons.
The city of Hopewell is reportedly exploring options to expedite the renovation, and anticipates sharing an update regarding potential renovations of the playground sometime in April.
