RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A water main break is causing heavy flooding to an area near Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
On Sunday, Jan. 21 at 2:29 p.m., VCU issued an alert of a water main break causing heavy flooding on Main Street at Jefferson Street.
This comes shortly after a water main break occurred in Henrico County, which caused flooding in residential areas nearby.
At 3:03 p.m., VCU reported heavy flooding was also on Cary Street at Belvidere Street due to the water main break.
According to the alert, VCU police are on scene.
Anyone in the area is advised to avoid the streets near Main Street at Jefferson Street and Cary Street at Belvidere Street.
