A live TV show host on Friday (Mar 29) created a stir when she aggressively tossed her script on air while addressing former US President Donald Trump’s comments about a judge’s daughter on social media.
MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, during her show, said, “We need to change the conversation.”
“I’ve reported breaking news about gag order requests due to threats against judges and their children more times than I can count today.”
Wallace then denounced Trump along with former federal Judge Michael Luttig, MSNBC’s John Heilman, Lisa Rubin, and Glenn Kirschner, and accused the former US president of using the “highest court in the land” to delay “every federal criminal trial.”
“Donald Trump brazenly and repeatedly attacks not just judges,” Wallace said.
“Judges don’t have Secret Service protecting them. What are we going to do differently, because Donald Trump sure as hell isn’t changing,” she added.
Trump’s ultimate aim, Luttig said, was to “delegitimize” the judiciary.
“From the moment the former president began his vicious attacks on the federal and state courts and their judges, his objective was to delegitimize those courts. This way, if they ruled against him in any of his cases, his followers, and possibly a significant portion of the nation, would dismiss those rulings as politically motivated,” Luttig said.
After Trump shared critical social media posts about the judge’s daughter, Manhattan prosecutors asked the judge to explain the terms of a gag order that was imposed on him.
The former United States president accused New York Judge Juan Merchan of accommodating his daughter’s interests as a Democratic political consultant.
He then alleged that Merchan, whose company had previously assisted President Joe Biden and other Democrats with their campaigns, had shared a picture online exhibiting her “obvious goal” of seeing Trump imprisoned.
“Judge Juan Merchan is totally compromised and should be removed from this TRUMP Non-Case immediately. His Daughter, Loren, is a Rabid Trump Hater, who has admitted to having conversations with her father about me, and yet he gagged me,” Trump wrote.
“She works for Crooked Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, and other Radical Leftists who Campaign on ‘Getting Trump,’ and fundraise off the ‘Biden Indictments’ – including this Witch Hunt, which her father ‘presides’over, a TOTAL Conflict – and attacking Biden’s Political Opponent through the Courts. Former D.A. Cy Vance refused to bring this case, as did all Federal Agencies, including ‘Elections’,” he added.
