Voters elect new council members in Selbyville, Milton, Millville


Selbyville, Millville and Milton will make changes to their town councils following a March 5 election.

Carol Cary and incumbent Richard Duncan will each serve a two-year term in Selbyville after defeating incumbent Jay Murray in Selbyville. Cary received 146 votes, Duncan 123 and Murray 92, according to the town website.

Mayor Ron Belinko and newcomer Peter Michel were elected in Millville. Belinko received 339 votes, Michel 282 and Paul Stark 145, according to town hall.

And in Milton, challenger John Collier unseated incumbent Mayor Ted Kanakos. Collier received 376 votes while Kanakos received 239 votes, according to the town website.

The next municipal elections in Sussex will take place April 4 in Blades, April 9 in Ocean View, April 16 in Seaford and April 23 in Milford.
