Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball loses 72-75 to Baylor in nail-biter NCAA Tournament game


BLACKSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Tech Hokies are eliminated from the NCAA Tournament after losing 72-75 against the Baylor University Bears in a close game Sunday.

On Sunday, March 24, the No. 4 seed Virginia Tech Hokies played against the No. 5 seed Baylor Bears at 8 p.m. on their home court at the Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg in a second round game in the NCAA Tournament.

The game was neck-and-neck between the Hokies and the Bears, with the Hokies trailing behind with only a couple points less for most of the tournament. However, the Hokies were unable to surpass the Bears by the time the buzzer rang, signaling the game’s end.

Hokies player Matilda Ekh scored the most points for her team with a total of 19 points. Bears player Jada Walker scored the most points for her team with a total of 28 points for her team.
