RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia International Auto Show features new cars, electric vehicles and vintage Mustangs to look at, climb in or drive during a three-day event.
The Virginia International Auto Show held its second showing from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, offering an up-close look at new vehicle models.
Attendees were allowed to climb into cars to check out features inside of the latest models. Vintage Mustangs and custom cars were also on display at the event.
The auto show featured an indoor electric vehicle track for attendees to have the chance to test-drive electric vehicle models and feel their fast acceleration and performance.
Clinton Carter said he and his wife like to attend the event to try out new models and sit inside of them without having to go to a dealership.
“She tends to lean more towards Volkswagen. I tend to lean more towards BMW,” Carter said when asked what car models are the couple’s favorite. “We kind of go back and forth, but lately we’ve been looking into Toyota as well.”
Carter said the auto show has helped him change his mind about some vehicles that he has wanted to buy in the past, and that there are a few car lines that he would consider purchasing after viewing them at the show.
“So far, two of the new BMWs have surprised me with the new tech that’s in them, just because I haven’t really shopped them in a few years,” Carter said. “So, it has been a big help to come out and check them out.”
The Virginia International Auto Show will be open for one more day at the Greater Richmond Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
Admission to the event is $12 for adults and $9 for seniors, military and students. Children aged 12 and under are free with a paying adult. To purchase tickets in advance visit the Virginia International Auto Show’s website.
