RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Credit Union is warning its customers to not share their personal identification numbers (PIN) after fraudulent text messages were reported.
The credit union sent a message to its customers on Friday, Feb. 2 warning them that some customers have received messages from scammers pretending to be from the credit union.
Virginia Credit Union reminds customers that it will never reach out to them asking for their PIN, online banking login information or any other personal information.
The credit union also urges its customers to not click on any links they might receive by text message, even if the message appears to be coming from the credit union.
Virginia Credit Union customers who have received suspicious messages which appear to be from the credit union are encouraged to check with them by calling 800-285-6609.
