HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — “The whole thing’s about to fall,” said area local Eric Frank, recording lines of cracks in the pavement outside of a Henrico County apartment complex for Facebook Reels.
As a car pulls into a parking space in front of him, Frank shouts, “Hey, I wouldn’t park there!” When the driver asks him why, Frank answers, “Back up, I wanna show you — the whole frickin’ wall’s about to fall.”
And by the time morning came on Thursday, March 7, the wall did fall — with Frank looking on, telling the camera “I told you so.”

The evening of March 6, Frank happened upon what appeared to be weaknesses in the retaining wall outside of the Hamptons at Hunton Park Apartments, located in the Glen Allen area. He posted two videos on Facebook of the event, filming several feet of cracks that stretched across parking spots and into the curb.
According to Frank, he contacted 9-1-1 due to his suspicions that the retaining wall would soon collapse. He filmed firefighters and emergency personnel responding to the scene, including two leaning over the railing beside him as they assessed the situation.
By morning, the wall had collapsed. According to a spokesperson for Henrico County Division of Fire, its units joined Henrico Building Inspections and Henrico Utilities in responding to the scene.

All vehicles were removed from the area once the cracks were noted by Henrico officials. According to the spokesperson, no vehicles or structures were damaged, including any of the nearby apartments.
A restricted area has been set up by the owner and management of the apartment complex, according to the spokesperson. Stabilization efforts have begun in partnership with an engineering firm, which will reportedly begin repairs in the coming week, overseen by Henrico Building Inspections.
The spokesperson said the cause of the collapse is not known at this time.
