Middletown’s Town Council welcomes two new faces and the return of the vice mayor following Monday’s election.
Voters had five candidates to choose from for three council seats, including one incumbent and four newcomers.
James Reynolds, vice mayor of the town since 1990, received 626 votes to secure his reelection, according to the town’s website.
With two empty seats left by former Councilmen Robert McGhee, elected in 2004, and Robert Stout, elected in 2015, town residents had a fresh slate of candidates for the remaining seats.
Bruce Orr, receiving 528 votes, and Craig Sherman, receiving 526, received the second- and third-most votes, naming them the newest members of the Town Council over Jeffrey J. Broughton Sr., with 490 votes, and Vincent Francabandera, with 171 votes, according to the town’s website.
