The jury has reached a verdict in the civil trial between Gwyneth Paltrow and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, who is suing the actress over a 2016 collision on a ski slope, according to the court’s public information officer.
After his initial lawsuit seeking over $3 million in damages was dismissed, Sanderson refiled his suit, looking for “more than $300,000.” Paltrow countersued, seeking a symbolic $1 and attorneys’ fees.
The eight-person jury began deliberating Thursday afternoon following closing arguments in a trial in which attorneys for both sides argued that their client was the downhill skier, which, according to a so-called skier’s “code,” would make the other responsible for the crash.
