A Florida mother has been convicted of first-degree murder after her 18-month-old died from starvation. WBBH reports Sheila O’Leary was also charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, two counts of child neglect, and one count of child abuse.O’Leary and her husband were indicted in 2019 after their baby died. Officials say the couple’s 3-year-old boy, 5-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl were also suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration.The couple reportedly told police they are vegans and only eat raw fruits and vegetables. O’Leary’s sentencing is set for July 25. Her husband Ryan is expected to go to trial later this year.
