U.S. Marshals arrest D.C. man after fatal shooting in Dumfries

DUMFRIES, Va. (WRIC) — A Washington, D.C. man was arrested by U.S. Marshals nearly two weeks after a shooting in Dumfries in which one person was killed.

According to the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office, gunshots were heard in a parking lot on 3600 block of Tavern Way in Dumfries on the night of Sunday, May 15 before an SUV was seen speeding away.

Police were called to the area, and they found 52-year-old Miles Tracy Hall of Triangle with an apparent gunshot wound. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified Devlon Stephen Crew-Hamilton of Washington, D.C. as a suspect and determined that he knew the victim and fatally shot him when a dispute escalated.

Crew-Hamilton was arrested in D.C. by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Friday, May 27 and charged with second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and using a firearm while committing a felony.
