Two-vehicle tractor-trailer crash shuts down I-95 North in Chesterfield, causing miles of backups

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and a minivan has shut down all northbound lanes on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield County, causing delays for those in the area.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the crash took place just after 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, just north of the I-295/W Hundred Road interchange.

Virginia State Police said the two vehicles involved were a tractor-trailer and a minivan. The driver of the tractor-trailer reported a minor injury.

All northbound lanes are closed as of 1:26 p.m. on Saturday. Additionally, the southbound left lane is closed.

There are 4 miles of backups as of 2:01 p.m., according to VDOT. Traffic is currently being diverted from I-95 via the Route 10 exit, 61A.
