Tractor-trailer crash in Hanover shuts down entire roadway

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor-trailer crash on W Patrick Henry Road in Hanover County has shut down a section of the roadway in both directions as crews respond to the scene.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the crash took place the morning of Sunday, March 31, on W Patrick Henry Road. It involved multiple vehicles, including a tractor-trailer.

The stretch of W Patrick Henry Road between Scotchtown Road and Mountain Road is completely closed as of 10:06 a.m. in both directions as first responders work to clear the scene.

Drivers are being detoured using the following roads:

  • Westbound: Off Scotchtown Road, then Mountain Road, then back onto W Patrick Henry Road.
  • Eastbound: Off W Patrick Henry Road, then Mountain Road, then back onto Scotchtown Road.
