A toddler was among three people killed Saturday night during a shooting at an apartment in Jacksonville, Florida, authorities said.
Patrol units were dispatched to the complex around 10 p.m. following reports of shots fired, said J.D. Stronko, assistant chief of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Authorities found multiple people shot, including four adults and a 3-year-old.
Three of them died, including the child. The victims have not been identified.
“They traveled to the apartments possibly to conduct the private sale of a dog for reasons that are unknown to us at this time,” Stronko said, adding a dispute took place before the shooting.
Two men were seen fleeing the scene, Stronko said. Police “have just about as many questions regarding this incident as you do right now,” he said.
