Police are searching for a man they say stole from several doughnut shops across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.Windham, New Hampshire police said a man stole or attempted to steal from at least eight doughnut shops in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.Surveillance video from just after 5 a.m. Friday shows a man smashing his way into Muldoon’s Liquors in Dracut. The cash register inside of the liquor store was open, and empty of any money. Surveillance video shows him grabbing a handful of instant lottery tickets before running out of the store, toward a vehicle parked across the street. Several other stores in Massachusetts reported similar thefts earlier in the morning, including at a Heav’nly Donuts on Route 110 in Dracut.According to authorities, he handed a note to staffers indicating he had a weapon, tried to steal the cash register there, failed and took off.Police in Pelham, New Hampshire released surveillance images of a man wearing a face mask inside a Dunkin’ restaurant on Mammoth Road in Pelham at 6:30 a.m. Friday.Police said the man stole the tip jar from the store and was driving a red Toyota Camry.”He is believed to have done a crime spree across Massachusetts and into New Hampshire throughout the early morning hours,” said Pelham Capt. Anne Perriello told WMUR.Police said the man later robbed a Honey Dew Donuts in Windham, again stealing a tip jar before leading police on a brief pursuit.”On foot, he walked up to the drive-thru window,” Windham police Capt. Bryan Smith said. “As he did that, the worker opened the window, and when they did that, he grabbed the tip jar. There was a struggle over the tip jar, but eventually, the suspect did take control of that tip jar and he fled away with it.”Dracut, Massachusetts, police said they are investigating whether the smash-and-grab burglary at a liquor store in which lottery tickets were stolen and an attempted robbery at a Heav’nly Donuts is related to the other incidents.
