Brace yourself for severe weather on Monday as thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, destructive hail along with the threat of isolated tornadoes are in the cards for Delaware, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain showers, followed by a thunderstorm are expected to begin around 2 p.m. accompanied by strong gusts of wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph and increasing to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Some of the storms could be severe, according to the weather service forecast. With a 100% chance of precipitation, rainfall is expected between a quarter-inch and a half-inch with higher amounts possible during thunderstorms.
The risk of thunderstorms and severe conditions will continue through the afternoon and into the evening with a possible shower and thunderstorm expected around 8 p.m.
Temperatures will be in the low 80s during the day, dipping to the 50s at night.
Tuesday is set to be sunny with a high near 75, but it will be windy with gusts as high as 25 mph.
