When it comes to summer activities, there’s nothing like a free movie. And in Delaware, there are plenty of locations and films to choose from this year.
Here are some public locations across the state where movies will be played at free admission.
Bethany Beach
Bethany Beach is set to put on a wide variety of free movie showings nearly every Monday from June 12 to Sept. 29.
Starting at dusk each night, the films from June to August are shown on the beach, while the final four in September will be displayed on the Bandstand, according to the town of Bethany’s website. All movies are subject to weather and beach conditions.

Like Bethany, Dewey puts on movie screenings on Monday nights. These will begin June 19 and will run through Aug. 21. The films will begin playing at 8:30 p.m. on the beach.

Presented by Courageous Hearts, “Summer Movie Nights at the Barn” in Lincoln will have three showings this summer spread out among June, July and August. All three movies are Disney films and will be shown at 8 p.m.
Registration is encouraged to ensure a spot.

Dover
A free movie will be playing on July 1 in Dover as a part of Elan Shari Event Design & Management’s “Hello Summer Backyard Bash.” Although the film’s title has yet to be chosen, the event’s page says the attendees will help decide. The film will be shown at 8:30 p.m. and will conclude the event, which includes food trucks, face painting and lawn games earlier in the day.

Glasgow
Glasgow Baptist Church is offering a free community family movie night in June. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the movie will start playing at 6:30 p.m., according to the event’s page.
