The Ghostbusters are coming to Virginia, will visit Richmond twice


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Ghostbusters are making appearances all throughout Virginia during the opening week of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Volunteers dressed head-to-toe in Ghostbusters gear, alongside vehicles decked out as the Ecto-1, will be helping to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation through several appearances in Virginia this weekend, including two events in Richmond.

“As life-long fans of the franchise, it’s an honor to use our passion to help other charities raise much needed funding,” said Jeff Foxwell, Vice President of the Ghostbusters of Virginia. “Our members are excited to be making appearances all throughout Virginia during [the] opening week of the movie release to provide photo ops and meet fans.”

The two events in Richmond will both take place at Bowtie Movieland 17 at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23.

The following is the full schedule of where the Ghostbusters of Virginia will be appearing this weekend:

Friday, March 22

  • At 4 p.m.: Bowtie Movieland 17 in Richmond
  • At 5 p.m.: Kemps River Cinema Cafe in Virginia Beach
  • At 6 p.m.: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Charlottesville
  • At 6 p.m.: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Crystal City, Arlington

Saturday. March 23

  • At 4 p.m.: Alamo Drafthouse in Loudoun County
  • At 4 p.m.: Bowtie Movieland 17 in Richmond
  • At 5 p.m.: Cinema Cafe Edinburgh in Chesapeake
  • At 5 p.m.: Cinema Cafe in Chester

Sunday, March 24

  • At 5 p.m.: Cinema Cafe Pembroke in Virginia Beach
  • At noon: Main Street Geek in Front Royal
