Police in Texas arrested a suspect after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and her husband following an altercation outside a restaurant, officials said.
According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), Micah Eckert, 25, approached a woman he was dating and her husband in a restaurant parking lot just before 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20. Following an altercation, Eckert allegedly stabbed both victims. The 44-year-old female victim and the 42-year-old male victim were transported to area hospitals in stable condition, police said.
“Officers responded to a stabbing call at a restaurant parking lot,” said HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Ali. “They were advised two persons had been stabbed after the male victim got into a physical altercation with Eckert that escalated when Eckert stabbed the male and his wife.”
Ali added, “A security guard in an adjacent property detained Eckert until officers arrived. It was learned that Eckert was dating the female victim and was confronted by the woman’s husband.”
