A 17-year-old boy from Newark has been arrested in relation to the shooting at Christiana Mall on April 7 that left three people injured, according to Delaware State Police.
The teen turned himself in Tuesday, police said, when he was charged with two felonies — facilitating a riot and second-degree conspiracy — as well as offensive touching.
Police said the 17-year-old and two of his friends ganged up on an 18-year-old man in the mall food court, leading to a fight and later, shots fired. Police are still searching for the 17-year-old’s two friends, one of whom shot the 18-year-old, the 18-year-old’s friend and a random bystander.

The 17-year-old was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to a Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services facility on a $15,000 secured bail.
Christiana Mall did not respond to immediate requests for comment following the arrest. However, the mall’s website now says that shoppers under 18 must be accompanied by someone at least 21 years old on Fridays and Saturdays after 3 p.m.
Anyone with information about the other two suspects is asked to contact Delaware State Police Troop 2 at 302-365-8428 or Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
