It’s finally Super Bowl time.
It has been two weeks since the Philadelphia Eagles shellacked the quarterback needy San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs edged the Cincinnati Bengals on a game-winning field goal to advance to Super Bowl LVII.
Philadelphia is seeking its second championship five years and Kansas City is playing in its third Super Bowl in four seasons.
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The game is nationally televised on FOX.
Rihanna is performing the halftime show and Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem.
This page will be updated throughout the game.
Fans flock outside State Farm Stadium
The fans of both teams were well represented, and out in full force several hours before the game started.
They filled the fan festival held outside the stadium, taking advantage of the sun-splashed 75 degree afternoon. A crowd of a several hundred fans lined the FOX Sports studio set, chanting “E-A-G-L-E-S!” much to the displeasure of some Chiefs fans.
Terry Bradshaw looked back during a commercial break and tried to egg on the crowd, and the chants grew louder.
There were plenty of alcohol stands and food vendors to keep the fans happy. And some of them were dressed in unique outfits, like the two Chiefs fans with a dog figure on their head, or an Eagles fan with an eagle figure on top of her hat.
And of course, there were the plethora of fans in Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes and Travis and Jason Kelce jerseys.
In addition, there were old-school jerseys like one of all-time Eagles great Chuck Bednarik, not to mention several Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb jerseys.
Said one Eagles fan, who found out he got tickets Friday afternoon, then booked a last-minute flight Saturday afternoon: “I can’t believe I’m here! I haven’t slept in 2 days.”
