ESSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Summer is approaching soon, and you can spend it on the river –registration is now open for St. Margaret’s School’s ‘Summer on the River’ camp.
St. Margaret’s School’s ‘Summer on the River’ camp is open to both boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15. According to St. Margaret’s School, campers will ‘learn by doing’ with action-packed research, hands-on learning and plenty of fun.
The camp will be led by Richard Moncure, S.T.R.E.A.M. director at St. Margaret’s and the 2022 Virginia Association Independent Schools Teacher of the Year.
There are four 1-week sessions that families can sign up for — June 24-28, July 8-12, July 17-21 or July 22-26. Spaces are limited to only 20 campers per week.
Sessions are $600 a week and families can reserve their spot online. In addition, there will be a shuttle service that will be available from Fredericksburg, Mechanicsville and Kilmarnock.
St. Margaret’s School is positioned on the banks of the Rappahannock River with a campus that includes a swimming pool, two docks, an outdoor classroom and a floating dock at its Hoskins Creek Athletic Facility. Campers will have access to sunfish sailboats, motor boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, canoes and more.
