Sandwich lovers will now have the option to have freshly sliced deli meats at Subway restaurants after the company began putting meat slicers in U.S. locations.
Subway announced the updates on Wednesday in a press release, stating that the efforts to upgrade the company started in 2021. The sandwich company has updated over 10,000 restaurants with “a fresh look” along with equipment and is working to make ordering online an easier experience, it states.
New deli meat slicers heading to U.S. locations
Trevor Haynes, North America at Subway president, said in the release that the company has undergone multiple changes in recent years, including new signature sandwiches that were received well from customers.
“The addition of freshly sliced meats is the most impactful yet as it gives our guests a better sandwich – raising the bar even higher for the brand that defined fresh,” Haynes said in the release.
Deli meat slicers have been installed in 20,000 restaurants, the release stated.
Additionally, Subway invested over $80 million in the meat slicers, which were gifted to all of the U.S. franchisees.

The restaurant is offering four new sandwich options:
- The Titan Turkey, #15 on the menu: Ingredients include turkey, double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and mayonnaise. The sandwich is served on Subway’s Artisan Italian bread.
- The Grand Slam Ham, #99 on the menu: The sandwich is made with ham, double provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and mayonnaise and served on Artisan Italian bread.
- The Garlic Roast Beef, #17 on the menu: It is made with Roast Beef, double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and roasted garlic aioli. This sandwich is also served on Artisan Italian bread.
- The Beast, #30 on the menu: This sandwich uses a half pound of meat, including pepperoni, salami, turkey, ham and roast beef. Other ingredients include double provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, mayonnaise, and MVP Vinaigrette and is served on Artisan Italian bread.
According to the release, Subway’s team took over a year to develop the new sandwiches.

The promotion will take place between 10 a.m. and noon in the restaurant’s local time zone.
