StormTracker8: Excessive Heat WARNING Friday and Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Heat Advisory for areas east of I-95 until 10am tomorrow.   Then an Excessive Heat Warning until Saturday at 8pm for locations along and EAST of I-95 with a Heat Advisory to the west.

This is the first Excessive Heat Warning for Richmond in 4 years, and we have a chance of seeing a high of 100° for the first time in 3 years.

It is going to be hot and very muggy for the next two days over the area.  Lows tonight will be falling into the mid to upper 70s, but it will feel like the lower 80s when you wake up in the morning.

Tomorrow just sizzles all day with the heat and humidity over us.

Again, the question will be if we can see any showers are storms popping up.  If they do, they should crank up by the Blue Ridge Mountains and move to the east. That would put the best chances for rain to our north and northwest.

Friday night will be very warm and humid over us.

Saturday, it is another day just like Friday.

A boundary will start to approach from the north late into the afternoon and evening hours.   This could again spark off a few storms in the area (which could be a factor for the NASCAR race.)

Sunday, a front move in with showers and storms.   That will bring us a better chance of seeing highs dip back into the middle and upper 80s.

Seasonable 80s are on tap for much of next week in the area.
