RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Special Weather Statement has been issued for several localities in the Richmond area.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, the special weather statement is in effect in Richmond, Petersburg, Henrico, Chesterfield, Powhatan, New Kent, Goochland, Powhatan and Amelia until 3 p.m. Saturday.
Residents of the affected areas are encouraged to stay indoors until the severe weather has subsided.
