The Slidell Police Department responded to an assault with a sandwich over the weekend.According to police, an “all out brawl” ensued between a customer and an employee at an area sandwich shop. Police did not identify the sandwich shop or any of the suspects involved. According to police, the employee and the customer exchanged words prior to the sandwich order. The customer alleged that the sandwich maker prepared their order wrong and was then accused of pushing the sandwich to the floor. Police say the employee picked up the sandwich and threw it into the customer’s face. Another customer called the police after a fight began with the customer, the customer’s sister, and an employee. Slidell police say the employee and customer were arrested and all involved in the fight were banned from the restaurant. Both the employee and customer face simple assault charges.
