We all have our favorites, even if we don’t admit it.
No, not children, but something nearly as precious. Our well-loved, “it wouldn’t be Christmas without it’’ tree ornaments.
They are the ones that get the most bubble wrap or tissue around them when we de-Christmas each year, the ones we most look forward to unpacking when the tree goes back up.
And they usually come with stories we love to share again & again.
In my home, my favorites include a fragile midcentury glass ornament handed down from my grandmother’s trees to my childhood trees to trees I know decorate with my husband and sons.
If you plan to decorate a tree this year, please consider taking a photograph of your favorite ornament and sending New Audience Editor Tammy Paolino a high-resolution photo and a brief (150-word or less) description of why it is your favorite. Send responses, including your hometown, to: tpaolino@gannett.com, and the deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 14, to be considered for a story.
Holly, jolly intel
