At least five people burst into a Seaford-area home demanding an item before opening fire on a 19-year-old man who was in his bedroom and a teen woman who was sitting in a chair in the same room.
The man, who has not been identified, was killed.
The 19-year-old woman was treated for her injuries at an area hospital and released, police said. Spared in the shooting were an infant and two other adults who lived in the house located in the 2800 block of West Stein Highway, less than half a mile from the Maryland state line.
No arrests have been made in this killing.

Police spokesperson Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell said troopers were dispatched to the home about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a home invasion. That’s where troopers found the wounded victims.
A police investigation found that five people forced their way into the home through the rear door.
“Once inside, the suspects brandished handguns and went directly to the victim’s bedroom where he and the female victim were located and demanded an unknown item,” Hatchell said.
The man was shot multiple times in the torso while in his bedroom, Hatchell said. The teen woman was shot while seated on a chair in the same room.
“Also inside the residence at the time of this incident was an infant child and two other adults that also reside at this address,” he said. “They were not injured during the incident.”
Police were still at the house about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Investigators wearing latex gloves could be seen going in and out of the house, which had Halloween decorations that looked like blood on the windows and front door. A decoration with the words “KEEP OUT!” scribbled in blood was also prominently displayed on one of the front windows.
