Once again, we are lighting up Richmond! It’s an RVA and 8News tradition to turn on Richmond’s holiday lights at Kanawha Plaza and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
Kanawha Plaza is located at E Canal Street and S 7th Street in Richmond.
News anchors Deanna Allbrittin, Eric Philips, Delaney Hall and John Rogers alongside meteorologist Matt Dinardo were downtown to celebrate the holiday season.
Bring your blankets and chairs to watch a screening of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” under the lights after the switch is flipped.
RVA Illuminates is brought to Richmond by WRIC 8News and the City of Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities.
See Richmond’s Holiday Lights in style! In support of the Conexus Gift of Light campaign to bring the gift of healthy vision to local children, we’re offering the chance to win a free Holiday Lights Limo Tour for up to 8 people courtesy of James Limousine! We’ll also throw in a $200 gift card for dinner at a local restaurant to make it the perfect night!
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CONEXUS VISION
8News partners with Conexus Vision during the holiday season to help children in the Richmond area gain access to optometrists and prescription eyewear. Conexus specializes in helping kids in need and through their Gift of Light campaign a $10 donation buys a child an eye exam, and a $50 contribution covers an eye exam and glasses. Donations can be made online.
