RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) held a dog and cat show to fundraise money for emergency medical care for sick and injured animals.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, RACC held its Muttminster and Meowminster events at Main Street Station to fundraise money for the RACC Foundation’s Tommie Fund, which helps cover emergency medical care costs for animals in need.
Dogs and cats competed in their own shows for the chance to earn the ultimate title of Best in Show. The event featured pet vendors, food trucks and activities for pets and families to enjoy.
Christie Chipps Peters, Director of RACC, said the competition had many other titles for pets to win, including Best Smile, Most Beautiful Pitbull, Best Wiggle Bottom and Best Tricks.
“There’s so many [titles], and they’re funny,” Peters said. “Your pet can compete in anything.”
