U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester announced on Friday that she has tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the latest lawmaker to contract the virus this week.
Blunt Rochester, Delaware’s lone congresswoman, tweeted that she tested positive Friday morning following a routine test. She wrote that she is experiencing “very mild symptoms” and will be isolating and following COVID-19 guidelines. She is vaccinated and boosted.

This comes just after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers announced earlier this week that they, too, have tested positive for COVID-19. Two members of the president’s Cabinet, as well as aides, also recently announced they tested positive.
Blunt Rochester, like Pelosi, attended the White House on Tuesday to celebrate the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama were also in attendance.
Valerie Biden Owens, Biden’s sister, announced on Wednesday that she tested positive after experiencing mild symptoms. She said in a statement, through her book publisher, that she has not been in close contact with the president or first lady.
